Kia ora!
Rails Girls comes to Wellington! During the free two-day workshop we'll dive into the magical world of Ruby on Rails.
We are running a workshop during the weekend of August 27 & 28.
All of the material is available for you to learn at home by yourself but Rails Girls offers a casual and friendly environment to learn with others and a good tutor to student ratio to help get past some tricky areas.
Applications are closed! Follow us on Facebook and we'll let you know when we hold another workshop.
You learn designing, prototyping and coding with the help from our coaches.
You need your own laptop, curiosity and a sprinkle of imagination!
Want to help? We are looking for volunteers and sponsors. Email us.
How much does the workshop cost? Nothing, it's free! You just need to be excited! And we can help out with public transport costs if necessary.
Who is this aimed for? Rails Girls Wellington is open to all those who identify as women or girls with basic knowledge of working with a computer. All ages may attend, but we would prefer very young people to come with a parent or guardian. Please bring your laptop.
Can men attend? Yes, but you need to be accompanied by an interested woman. Also, girls are given a priority.
Do you have a code of conduct? Yes – it is here. We expect all attendees, coaches, and sponsor representatives to behave respectfully to make sure everyone has a great time.
I know how to program - How can I help? We’re also looking for people to be coaches and help out with teaching the Rails Girls guides. Email us.
