I am a guy - can I sign up? Yes! Please spread the word to your female friends too.
Why Ruby on Rails? Because ROR is awesome and really easy to pick up compared to the other languages.
Why would I want to consider learning programming? If you have been frustrated that you wanted to build a new site/app but it costs way too much to get someone to build it for you, come learn the basics! It's really not that intimidating plus we're all doing this together!
Why girls? The world of tech and startups is heavily skewed male and we think that girls can be awesome coders as well.
