Rails Girls is coming to Manchester! During this free 1.5-day workshop you'll dive into the magical world of web development with Ruby on Rails. With the help and guidance of our coaches, you will create a real web application in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Applications are now closed for Rails Girls Manchester. If you have applied, we will let you know soon if you have got a place.
You learn designing, prototyping and coding with the help from our coaches.
You need your own laptop, curiosity and a sprinkle of imagination!
Want to help? We are looking for volunteers and Rails coaches. Email us.
How much does the workshop cost? Nothing, it's free! You just need to be excited, curious and willing to learn.
Who is this aimed for? Women of all ages with basic knowledge of working with a computer. If you are under 18, you will need to be accompanied by an adult (Please advise us if this is the case). We’ve had people of all ages taking part. You will need a laptop.
Can men attend? Yes, but you need to be accompanied by an interested lady. Also, girls are given a priority.
I know how to program - How can I help? We’re also looking for people to be coaches. We’ll have a two-three hour workshop before the event to walk you through the curriculum. Email us.
What's your code of conduct? Rails Girls is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion.
