YOU will build two web applications, learn about current programming tools & practices and get introduced to the world of technology. All with the support of a friendly coach and partner; remote via Zoom of course. 🐿
No prior programming knowledge is necessary.
Rails Girls LA is an all-volunteer community.
We review applications as they arrive and accept people as they submit their application materials.

What will I learn?
You'll learn designing, prototyping and coding with the help from our friendly coaches.
Who is this for?
The workshop is aimed
at beginners who want to learn to program.
Women/Girls/female-identifying people 13 years old and up with basic knowledge of working with a computer are encouraged to attend. Please spread the word to anyone you know who may be interested in attending.
Can men attend?Women/female-identifying people are given priority, but men are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an interested woman.
Can men Coach?
We love cool male coaches. We want to have a mix of male and female coaches.
What do I need? You need your own laptop, curiosity and a sprinkle of imagination!
How can I help?
We can always use your donations for future events.

If you are absolutely not able to attend the Installation
Party on Friday we will get your computer ready to roll.

After we break up into small groups, your coach will help you get started on your first web application using the app guide
Reward yourself for a successful morning with a break. Talk with your coaches and peers about how awesome your first web applications are. Lunch will be a strict half hour long so you can get the most out of your experience. 🙂
Reconvene in small groups and extend your applications. Add comments, put it online with Heroku, or add design.
Head out or hang around to network and chat with coaches and peers while you reward yourself for a successful day with a tasty beverage and treats from your home.
